lessons learned

Our State of Generosity attempts to capture the experiences, ideas, and lessons learned, based on 40 years of tireless work to increase and improve philanthropy in the state of Michigan – and around the world. This summary chapter provides an overview of what has been learned about working together to increase acts and investments in philanthropy, and to encourage private voluntary action intended for the common good.

While no list can be totally inclusive of such a varied and extensive history of experiences, Chapter Five attempts to summarize useful tips for those who would like to try some of the strategies that have worked in Michigan.
